Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Seyvik (the “Service”) is operated by Aarion Labs and Technologies Private Limited, an Indian private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), Aarion Labs and Technologies Private Limited is the “Data Fiduciary”.

2. What we collect

Seyvik is a business-to-business (B2B) SaaS platform that educational institutions use to communicate with their enrolled students and parents/guardians via WhatsApp. We collect:

  • Tenant (college) data: Institution name, GSTIN, PAN, registered address, admin contact details (email, phone, name).
  • Faculty + student records uploaded by the tenant: Name, roll/employee number, department, year, contact phone, parent contact, email, date of birth.
  • Message metadata:Message timestamps, delivery status, conversation IDs — for billing and debugging. We do not read message body content for analytics.
  • Usage telemetry:API request paths, response codes, error traces — for service reliability.

3. Why we collect it

  • To deliver the contracted service to the tenant institution.
  • To route WhatsApp messages to the correct recipient.
  • To bill the tenant per active student per month, as agreed.
  • To comply with Indian legal obligations (GST invoicing, audit trails, lawful intercept requests if any).

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with:

  • WhatsApp / Meta:for message delivery (governed by Meta’s own privacy policy).
  • Razorpay: for processing tenant billing payments.
  • Cloud infrastructure providers (Cloudflare R2, Neon, Railway, Sentry) acting as processors under data processing agreements.
  • Government authorities only when legally compelled by a valid Indian court order or statutory request.

We never sell personal data. We do not run advertising on Seyvik.

5. How we store and protect it

  • All data at rest is encrypted (AES-256).
  • All data in transit uses TLS 1.2+.
  • Each tenant’s data is isolated at the database row level via PostgreSQL Row-Level Security.
  • File uploads are encrypted with per-tenant keys (server-side encryption with customer-provided keys / SSE-C).
  • Access to production data is limited to the company’s authorised signatory and is audit-logged.

6. How long we keep it

  • Active tenant data: as long as the tenant has an active subscription.
  • Message metadata: 24 months for billing reconciliation and dispute handling.
  • Audit logs: 7 years (Indian tax + corporate law retention).
  • On tenant cancellation: personal data is deleted within 30 days, except records required to be retained under Indian law.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDPA 2023, you (as a Data Principal) have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Request erasure of personal data (see Data Deletion).
  • Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis.
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of incapacity.
  • File a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Children

Seyvik is sold to educational institutions. Where a tenant institution uploads records of students under 18, the institution is responsible for obtaining parental consent under the DPDPA. We do not directly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We will publish any material changes on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
